From routine vaccinations and health checks to consultations and ongoing care, Robin's Nest Vets brings personalised veterinary care directly to your home. We aim to make appointments a more comfortable, familiar experience for you and your dog.
Consultation
We provide home consultations for both sick pets and general health checks, delivered in a calm, compassionate, and unhurried environment. Seeing your pet at home helps lower their stress levels and allows them to exhibit natural behaviours, which significantly aids in their examination and diagnosis.
As a single vet practice, we offer personalised continuity of care to ensure we truly get to know your pet. Following a clinical examination, we will discuss all available treatment options and advise you on keeping your pet happy and healthy.
During a consultation, we can also provide:
– Blood pressure monitoring
– Blood sampling and testing
– Lump sampling
– Nail clipping
– Flea and worming treatment
– Microchipping

Kennel Cough Vaccination
‘Kennel Cough’ is the name given to an infectious tracheobronchitis in dogs (an infectious cough). Lots of different viruses and bacteria can cause the infection.
Some of the infections that cause a canine coughs are included in core puppy vaccinations and subsequent boosters. As a result, your dog likely has some baseline protection already.
The Bordetella Vaccine
The most common bacteria responsible for Kennel Cough is Bordetella bronchiseptica, which is often the component that requires antibiotic treatment. A separate live nasal vaccine is available to target this specific infection (and also includes additional parainfluenza protection).
Key details about the nasal vaccine:
– Effectiveness: Because there are multiple strains of infectious cough, the vaccine cannot guarantee full protection against every strain, but it significantly lessens symptom severity if your dog is exposed.
– Timing: It can be administered to puppies as young as three weeks old and provides protection for approximately 12 months.
– Immunity Build-Up: It takes 3 days for the bacterial protection to become effective and about 3 weeks for the viral component. Please note that vaccination is not effective if a dog is already incubating the illness.

Pets on long-term treatments require regular checks to ensure their medication is safe, appropriate, and correctly dosed. Our repeat medication checkups help us ensure your pet continues to receive the best possible care. During these appointments, we will discuss any recommended monitoring or tests.
These reviews are typically recommended every 3 to 6 months, depending on your pet’s specific condition and medication, though more frequent checks may be necessary in critical cases.
Following a review, we can either dispense the medication directly or provide a written prescription for you to purchase it online.
